The second in a series of poems written by Yamini....

LGSC-1580...ADIOS, TILL WE MEET AGAIN

As the scorching heat makes way for the impending monsoon,
The final countdown for LGSC-1580, began this June.
Aaway from the scene, away from all the action,
Reflecting on the glorious past is but a logical reaction.

My heart yearns for those initial days, full of gay abandon,
But the jolt the basic leg gave all, one really cannot imagine.
Spotting an elusive tiger was easier at Ranthambore,
Than a fleeting glimpse of my harried husband in our home.

Even Shoib Akthar could not have matched such ferocity and pace,
The academic might of the Fd Wing left everyone in a daze.
But the ladies of the course got along like a house on fire,
Such bonding, in the face of adversity, one couldn`t help but admire!

Ex-Topchi, with its guns and glory, was bound to steal the thunder,
Why the enemy dreads our gunners,is certainly no wonder?
Spring was here, but pray why such wilderness in P blocks?
It was the term-break folks,fun-filled round the clock.

Post term-break, it was time to test the Tac Wing waters,
The extended weekends were a surprise that caused quite a flutter.
Finally, the SAT wing arrived with the blaze of the summer sun,
The last leg was an intoxicating mix of socials andMay Queen fun.

But one Friday evening,a pall of gloom engulfed the course,
A mixed bag of postings was certain to make everyone morose.
My friends and their boisterous company, I miss every single day,
Their memories will warm the cockles of my heart wherever I stay,

The enriching experience in Deolali I shall carry everywhere I go,
And tell people of a wonderful course called LGSC-1580
